My blogs name was inspired by the following song:
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
Let this be the moment now.
With ev’ry step I take
Let this be my solemn vow;
To take each moment and live
Each moment in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I have sung this song many times at Unity Churches. It’s a beautiful expression of living in peace. Peace and blessings, Brad

I too write poetry and was unsure as to how to handle posting older work. Thanks for the example you set by writing your “About my Poems”.

I didn’t want people to think I was going nuts at my old age so it deserved an explanation… Besides that desire is what started it all… I also wanted to keep all my poems stored in one place and what better way than my blog… Thanks for visiting my blog…

One of my favourite hymns. I am reminded of it when, in response to some terrible disaster or wrong doing, I find myself thinking ‘someone should do something about it’. I now follow that thought with ‘what am I doing about it?’ If we want peace, we can all do something about it, and let it begin with each one of us.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I am so touched by the words of this hymn and I am making a connection with them that goes way back. As a young girl I loved Tom Paxton. He had an album called ‘Peace’ and the title track went….’Peace, peace will, peace will come. Let it begin with me’. I love the song and am thinking that you have just shown me the inspiration for it. Thank you, Karen.

At times, I attend a metaphysical church and this is the song they use at the beginning of the service… It always brings a lot of peace. Thanks.

I remember it from days sitting around the campfire, probably most often with church groups.
