Thanks to Helen from HHC BLOG (http://helenchen.ws/) who invited me to participate the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge. If you don’t know her blog, go check it out…
The rules of Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo (It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph) and then nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge. Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command.
Today, I would like to invite ljcillustration from Lin’s Doodles (https://linsdoodles.wordpress.com/) to join the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge. If you have not seen her blog, please go and check the cool pictures and mixed media art…
Here is my third story & photos…
During Easter vacation in NJ, I kept passing an old cemetery along NJ Parkway and loved the old angel statues I saw from the road. I knew I had to stop and photograph a few.
One early rainy morning, I drove to the cemetery with my grandkids… They weren’t thrilled about it, but if they wanted breakfast, they had to go with grandma.
During our lengthy drive there, I explained many things about angels and how they only protect and do not harm. I also mentioned, ghosts were not going to jump from a grave like in the movies. Movies are exaggerated and meant to scare people, but in reality, it is not like that. They are smart and understood, but despite the conversation and explanation, they still kept calling me freaky… I wonder why!!!
The air is still…
Silence from above…
Don’t be afraid…
Angels will not harm…

I just see angels! 🙂 ❤ Angels also help the departed souls to Heaven, and that is so beautiful to think about! ❤

I wanted my grandkids to experience it because so many times we instill fear instead of loving thoughts for the departed and there’s nothing to fear.

Yes, I know what you mean! Very much! Sometimes people don’t even talk about the loved ones in Heaven because they are afraid to think about death. That is so sad.

I like cemetery photos. If ever you’re in London try and go to Abney Park cemetery, it’s old and very overgrown but interesting.
