Weekly Photo Challenge: Treasure

There’s a story behind my treasure…  I was out at a thrift store with a friend and once we got there, we went our separate ways.  We decided to meet at the cash register in two hours’ time.  Not even ten minutes had gone by and my friend comes over to tell me to go look at an art piece which had something to do with my place of birth.  I didn’t pay much mind and continued what I was browsing on.  Two minutes later, she comes over again with the same thing.  Again, I didn’t pay much attention until the third time she came around.  By then, I thought I better go take a look… 

I was speechless when I saw it…  It was more than treasure…  One of a kind.  I’ve seen Cuban cigar box labels in frames before, but never eleven at a time.  I scooped it up…

I didn’t know how to thank her for getting my attention…  She could have kept it herself or just ignored it, but she knew how much it would mean to me and she made sure I got a glimpse of it…

My grandfather was a tobacco grower and made Cuban cigars back in the days…  He’s gone now, but I’m sure he would have loved this magnificent treasure…

Again, Thanks my friend…  I will never forget the kind-hearted act of unselfishness…

This is my favorite…  It reminds me of my grandfather’s farm…
