Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

Grand. The “wow factor” of a scene or subject that makes a picture so stunning. That magical quality you’re always out looking for and so excited to capture with your camera.

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year, not only because we’re feasting the birth of Jesus, but in our family – It means getting together to celebrate.  We gather throughout the year, but Christmas seems special for us…  The lights, the colors, the food just gives us a sense of celebration…

After I decorate my entire house, I try to keep the spirit of the holidays alive throughout the month by attending several light displays and/or Christmas shows.  This year, I choose for the very first time to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  Wow!  It was spectacular…  Not only did they sing their hearts out, but the lights made it even more special.  I highly recommend going if it tours in your town.  As you will see from the pictures, sure keeps anyone’s spirit thriving…

  2. What is the Trans-Siberian orchestra? Are they really from Russia? Sound exotic 🙂

Actually, that’s what I thought when I went to see them, but they turned out to be a progressive rock band. I enjoyed it immensely… It was a combination of rock opera, light show, energy dancing, poetry, jazzy, you name it and they did it. All the songs related to Christmas. A must see show.
