I try to be a positive person and on my drive to work I chant, say prayers for my family and friends, and send light to our planet… But one peculiar thing I do which no one else knows about is: I sing, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, won’t you be my neighbor”… I don’t know what it is about this song that stuck with me al throughout these years. It’s the only line I know and I repeat it constantly to myself on my drive to work each morning… Some days I sing it more than others… I guess it depends on my mood in the morning…
It’s so nice out today and I was singing it at the top of my lungs… I thought I spread some corny cheerfulness to all my friends out there…
It’s the opening song for a children’s program created by Fred Rogers… I use to watch this program with my kids when they were little… They watched it over and over again… Perhaps that is why I bonded so much with the song or it is just the pretty words… It emanates happy thoughts for the rest of my day…
Here’s the video I found on YouTube and I also the lyrics for anyone that cares to sing along…

LYRICS:
It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?…
It’s a neighborly day in this beauty wood,
A neighborly day for a beauty.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?…
I’ve always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So, let’s make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we’re together we might as well say:
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?
Won’t you please,
Won’t you please?
Please won’t you be my neighbor?
Won’t You Be My Neighbor
