Weekly Writing Challenge: Fit to Write

Health and wellness. That old saying tells us that if you have your health, you have everything. However, health can mean much more than physical wellness. This week, we want to know what it means to you.

I think I’m pretty healthy.  I have the norm aches and pains a person over fifty has, but for the most part, I’m pretty healthy.  I take my vitamins, I try to rest when possible, I do my daily walks, and I do try to eat healthy.  I believe in balance and I do indulge in the occasional Diet
Coke or chocolates.  I don’t make it a habit to eat junk food daily, but I do not deny myself the pleasure of having what I yearn for…

I believe that what really really has helped my health is meditation…  While sitting quietly, I empty my mind of all junk and stress and anything that may be bothering me daily…  It’s a release and emptying out of guck…  A time to heal and not worry about a thing!  My body replenishes while in meditation.  It energizes me… It also makes me stronger and I don’t worry or let things affect me as others do…  I realize that some things you can change while others you can’t…  I try to live in the now and not worry about what will happen tomorrow or the next day…  There’s a certain peace that only comes with meditation…

Doesn’t mean I’m perfect…  I’m far from it, but when I’m confused or dazed or someone hurt me, I am aware and try to change my outlook…  I’m the only one that can build myself up or down and no one else can do it for me…

For me, meditation provides all my answers…

I never thought meditation would work for me because of how restless I am but it really does work. It’s so healthy to take the time to remove the mental ‘wastes’ and rejuvenate your spirit. A very wonderful post.
