In my opinion, it is not a good idea to discuss politics or religion with those who are not close… But if you do, be aware and prepared for the confrontation that will follow… Two very important and sensitive topics for a discussion…
I seldom discuss my opinions on either topic… Not even with those in my family… Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I refuse to go to battle over it… Some people can, but I don’t enjoy the confrontation… A nice evening can turn into a nightmare when people refuse to back down… Seen it happen too many times…
Whenever I mention Obama, my mom chews me out… According to her he’s a communist… I don’t even try to explain it any more… She’s seventy-six years old and the argument is not worth the aggravation… My friends and co-workers do not mention politics or religion and so I don’t either… I call it the unspoken evil… Everyone has a different view and no one can agree on anything. Sounds familiar?? This is exactly what transpires when a bill is trying to pass through the HOUSE… Very tough to get the majority to agree…
I’m not what you call conventional when it comes to religion. My entire family is either devout Catholics or very Baptist. I don’t know where I came from because I’m neither. I must have been dropped at birth…
I meditate and connect to the divine within… I look for God inside and not outside of me…I believe heaven and hell is within us. We can either torture ourselves or live a full happy life… Can’t get any better or worse than that… I tap into” MY GOD” whenever I want… I do not have to go to a house of worship in order to do that… I can also call my God anything I want… Sometimes, I refer to him/her by light energy. So much simpler… No one condemning or trying to strike me down… I’m at peace with who I am and that’s what matters…
